No Hardware video accerlation with Nvidia ION

Just two days ago I installed ubuntu as my primary operating system on my HP Mini 311 netbook. This runs on the nvidia ION platform. On windows I was able to play 720p video on many websites with little or no problem. This seems not to be the case here.

I have tried out 720p video off of youtube first, which supports video accerlation. I got between 1-3 frames per second (Guessing, but I believe that is accurate). Is there a way to turn on video accerlation?

I've searched this forum and read tons of threads, but none of them were layed out clearly in a step-by-step manner. I've tried every solution I've found, though I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

So would anyone mind posting below a step by step process to solve this? Please don't post links to other threads, as I have already read them, and it makes it more confusing for me.

    Thank you in advance
