This topic is worth a read; didn't even know about FreeCiv. Right now it's the perfect CivII fix I've been wanting; quite the impressive open-source clone. ^_^
As far as what I play natively on Linux goes...
1 - ZSNES, (Linux Port) for my favorite classic platformers and fighting games.
2 - REGEN, (Linux Binary) gotta satisfy my occasional retro Sonic and EWJ urges somehow. Runs much smoother than Gen/GS!
3 - Linux-native port of SRB2 - a large-scale DOOM-legacy mod that transforms the original DOOM experience into a completely new 3D platformer, complete with third-person analog controls and an online mode...which is laughably inactive and most net-games have to be setup beforehand. I preferred single player and all the complete, community campaign packs available for it anyway.
4 - Open Arena, because I love its fast-paced shooting and all the custom characters from Quake III that are compatible with it. =P
5 - FreeCiv, once I get the hang of its UI!
6 to 25 - A bunch of other stuff that I'm relieved is working properly on WINE!
Heh, if I got the name right, my friend watched a play-through of it on Youtube and he has been raving about it since! Been interested in getting it because it has a Linux version, but the absence of combat is a bit of a turn-off to me, but that's just my opinion; much more into Dead Space. (Scariest game ever, IMO, but from what my friend keeps saying, Amnesia is just as terrifying in its own way, and I take his word for it.)Originally Posted by Lemuriano
