Is anyone out there using gnome 3 shell desktop instead of unity? I am wondering for those that are do you see any lack of functionality or polish due to the fact that ubuntu is tweaked to run Unity?

Very many of us here are using gnome-shell instead of Unity, with no problems at all. One of the reasons I (currently) prefer gnome-shell is that it has less annoying little bugs.
