No joy with the latest amd64 version of the patch
Here is what I get :
I used the dconf editor and the key show-label-search-icon-toolbar is already there...Code:nautilus & [1] 5845 Initializing nautilus-gdu extension (nautilus:5845): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.nautilus.preferences' does not contain a key named 'show-label-search-icon-toolbar' [1]+ Trappe pour point d'arrêt et de trace nautilus
In my Precise the nautilus version is 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu5
Hi flar,
Downloaded you patch and followed your instructions as in post #1 and everything is fine, as far I can see
Thanks!
SOLVED
I did not use the right patch and/or right version of Nautilus when using the patch...
Ok, now it is learning-time to get the buttons first and than the location bar, instead of the other way around... will try to figure this out myself

(Switched to Xubuntu... No Unity for me , thank you...)
Why does downloading the text attachements requires you to log on?!?
Also, the necessity of having to redo your tweaks all over again every time a new (security) patch comes out (which is happening as I'm writing) for an application that is remotely dependent forces people not to keep their system up to date. Way to go Ubuntu!

Many thanks to flar and kirby55 for the patch. I am able to run flars with no problems. Using 12.04.1 x64, GNOME nautilus 3.4.2. Great job.
Great thanks to you. I am a noob but I follow the first post, and I finally find again parent button. You rocks bro !!!
