With only 128MB of RAM and a 300 MHz processor you will probably not be able to use the GUI installer and you may even face problems running Lubuntu with GUI.

If your RAM is defective, then you're bound to have any number of wacky things happening. Remove or replace the defective memory chips, and maybe look at something lighter than Lubuntu (or at least use the alternate install CD).

Hello and Welcome to Ubuntu Forum

This may be helpful and may inspire you somehow: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1590614

I know it's not Lubuntu but very close.

If you need any help, let me know.

If there is a hardware failure somewhere, don't expect much as it's not a software issue after all.
