SeaHawk, unless you ask for a specific mod, it will be kinda hard to help !
    Xubuntu 12.04 x64 // AMD E-350 (2x1.6 GHz) // 8 GB DDR3 RAM // GeForce 9500GT (1GB) with passive cooling

No, unless you ask more specific it will be hard to help

An exe (as always) is a Windows-specific file format. If you are happy and they just compressed their weapon mod stuff as selfextracting zip-file, you can extract them directly in Ubuntu. And if they are not:
Then simply use their install exe under Wine, grab the files from there and put them in the Q3A folder.

Typical mods which work with Q3A under Linux nicely are:
    Generations Arena, Excessive Overkill.

Google will reveal quickly the download links.

Edit: Ok, its new year....so here especially for you
    http://excessiveoverkill.com/
    E+ as Zipfile
Generations Arena files are available as Zip as well:
    http://www.wireheadstudios.org/gener...oads.php#files

Edit 2: And simply by the fact that two of the more famous weapon / class mods for Q3A were available as Zips as well I find it kinda hard to believe when you write stuff like "Everything I have found is an exe file."
    Hence my previous posting....

I have mostly been using ioquake3 instead of the native ID software Linux client.
