    Replacing Gnome Shell with AWN

I want to replace GS with AWN so I can have a semi Gnome 2 setup (Fallback doesn't do it for me) but when I change the settings in the gnome-session AWN starts but there is no desktop compositing. Anyone know how to do this?

Re: Replacing Gnome Shell with AWN

Please note AWN (Avant Window Navigator) is only a dock application, it does not do windows compositing or any such tasks. You can run it in gnome-shell or unity (or any Desktop Environment you choose to use) but the compositing you mention is done by the DE (or at least a component of it - like compiz or metacity etc) itself.
