Re: Java/Minecraft Main Thread Exception Error

    I'm running 64-bit Xubuntu 11.10.
    I downloaded the 64-bit tar.gz file.
I used the 64-bit commands in those instructions (when presented the choice).
I honestly don't know either what I'm doing wrong, but it's probably me.
Do you know of a way to purge old versions of java? I seem to have old 1.6 and 1.7 versions hanging around, from all the different ways and times I've tried to install java...

You would need to use a PPA purge to remove whatever you installed from a PPA.

As for the one you downloaded separately, I have know idea.

Well, I did a little snooping around, and I found there were a bunch of java versions installed in the /usr/lib/jvm folder, and I cleared that out.
I tried installing oracle jdk 7 again, but it still didn't work, so I suppose I'll just go back to 6.

Re: Java/Minecraft Main Thread Exception Error

I have since stopped using the computer that was having said problem, so I honestly can't remember why I was getting that error code.
I'm going to mark it solved so it has resolution, and is considered closed, even though it technically isn't.

    Thanks for the help.

My apologies to future people who may be looking for an answer; don't lose hope, and keep searching.
