    add Cyrillic to the system

    Hi! I'm new on forum, could anyone provide me with a step by step procedure on how to add cyrilic? cause i have some files in russian which ubuntu doesn't recognize. Thanks!

    Hi Kristina,

    To add language support please go to terminal and type the following: gnome-language-selector

    hit enter. Select Russian language pack to setup ...... wait ...... and reboot the system.

    well this might be of use to some


    if you want to write in cyrillic as well as your original chosen language



    go systems tools/system settings/keyboard/layout settings/ + sign [add] down the bottom then pick Russian or whichever language you wish to add



    then a small keyboard will appear on topbar click and choose


    really easy and handy


    Many know this..... but some do not
    Linux is Latin for off-the-beaten-track
    what I like MOST about our Ubuntu ... The Community
    Playing with Slackware too now ...
