    Question What's a "AMV2" video?

    For some reason, Firefox in Xubuntu won't show an AVM2 video when I load a web site; all I see is a flickering icon of a picture frame. But Opera shows it just fine.

    Anyone know how to fix that?

    Thanks...

    AVM2 = Flash 9 video
    Do other Flash videos work okay in FF?

    As far as I can tell; I had a look in YouTube just to make sure I could play videos there. Seems a bit odd that Opera. and Chromium could read a Flash 9 Video just fine but Firefox could not. Would there be a setting I'm overlooking, perhaps?

    It's probably an easy fix, I'm guessing. These things usually are, but they're usually not obvious either...

    I did install both "Ubuntu restricted extras" and "Xubuntu restricted extras". Those helped with Banshee playing files, but they didn't help with Firefox trying unsuccessfully to pllay a Flash 9 video...

    Thanks!

    Right! The solution was posted to another thread of mine; and OldTimer777 gave me the direction to get fixed.

    And here be the solution if anyone else needs to fix this in Firefox:
    1. Open Firefox
    2. Go to; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...don/flash-aid/
    3. Download Flash Aid 2.2.1 (or whatever version it is)
    4. There will now be flash button on the right by the bar; open it
    5. Use the wizard to set up said Flash STUFF
    6. Bob's your uncle!
