Connecting to network drives

Using Lubuntu 11.10. Click on file manager, try to open network drives and get "operation not supported" error message. All other Ubuntu distro pcs can connect fine.

Am I missing a vital piece of software?

Thanks, Steve. I've done all that and still get the operation not permitted when trying to get to the network.
