It should, but you might have to change the .Xmodmap around and it might work with the current evdev driver, can't give any guarentees tho.

    any ideas?
    Hi,
I had the same problem - I solved it by simply replacing F12 with Button10 in gset-compiz -> shortcuts -> plugins -> scale. It's not using xbingkeys but the result is the same.
    Hope I helped.

    Linux newbie here:

I'm stuck when I try to start mapping forward and back in nautilus

~$ sudo apt-get install xvkbd xbindkeys
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree... Done
    E: Couldn't find package xvkbd

    what does this mean?

You need to enable the Universe repositories, see: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Package...iversePackages

How come when I try to set the path for click it won't work? I moved click and click.o to /usr/bin, and it won't work. However, when it's in ~/click/click, it will work... I've tried just setting click (because it's in my $PATH) and also /usr/bin/click, but it still won't work.

Regardless of the path I set to click, that portion in the xbindkeyrc will only work if the click folder is located at ~/click... Even if I set the path to /usr/bin/click, if I have click at ~/click, it will work. I don't want to have this folder in my home folder, is there a way I can move it to wherever I want?

hmm, I don't know, I haven't tried. Do you think it could work if you made the folder ~/.click (<- hidden)?

    MX700 mouse's sidebuttons not recognized

    Hi

Just upgraded to Dapper yesterday and is still having a problem with my mouse. I tried following the guide to the best of my skills, but alast is left with a semi-functioning mouse.

The problem seems to be that the event the side buttons make isn't recognized. In xev it is described as a "LeaveNotify EnterNotify KeymapNotify" of course with a lot of infomation that's impossible to copy.

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong here?

    xorg.conf(mouse)
    Code:
    Section "InputDevice"
            Identifier "Configured MX700 Mouse"
            Driver "evdev"
            Option "CorePointer"
            Option "Protocol" "evdev"
Option "Dev Name" "Logitech USB Receiver"
            Option "Dev Phys" "usb-*/input0"
            Option "Device" "/dev/input/mx700"
            Option "Buttons" "10"
            Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    EndSection
The following sections have been completed:
    - installing the old evdev
    - locked the version to the evdev
    - udev
    - editing the xorg.conf
    - xmodmap (may or may not be here the problem lies, since I have directly copy the example from this HowTo into my ~/.Xmodmap, but I doubt it.)
    - xbindkeys (installed when using breezy, have updated the path to xbindkeys and xvkbd)
The rest have been skipped untill I get my sidebuttons working.

What do you get in xev with xbindkeys turned off?
