    Gparted and Advanced Format drives

    Hello all,

I'll just go ahead with the questions.

I intend to fully format the current hard drive and repartition it.
I intend to dual-boot Linux with Windows XP.
My hard drive is one of the new "Advanced Format" drives. From what I know, it doesn't play nice with an XP system.
Now WD does have a live CD tool called WD Align, which is supposed to fix an XP alignment issue after XP has been installed.
But I've also read that if I boot into an Ubuntu Live Session, using Gparted, I can create properly aligned partitions then install XP without suffering any performance problems.
...So how should I do that?

    Thank you very much!
I support SOPA and I dare say it.

Re: Gparted and Advanced Format drives

Alright, no problems. Just installed XP in the smaller partition that I made, not experiencing significant read/write rate slow-downs.
I support SOPA and I dare say it.
