Question Moderators: How does One become One?

I've been a member of this community since 2007 and have just about tried and used every type of Ubuntu to see how it worked, what its capabilities were and what it could and would do if you developed it with different Applications.

I've been an Administrator and Moderator on other bulletin Boards and support groups for differing reasons and, although those 'boards have gone offline, I still have a hankering to be a 'mod' again and help the community in some small way. I'm also thinking of packaging - but that's for the future as I'm still recovering from a medical operation in hospital. Thanx in advance!

you may or may not be invited to become staff.

now i believe you at least have to be a Ubuntu Member before hand rather than retrospectively

if you want to help the community then offer support as that is the goal of this forum and community IMO.

Thread moved to Forum Feedback & Help.

Hi - there are a few threads in here dealing with the same issue.

    Slightly changed order now.

    get membership

wait to be asked, then refuse, then accept, then do it, then run away, then come back

You missed the part where people come find where you are sulking / being silly and come get you back

The first step to become a mod is not ask how to become a mod.

Usually when we need fresh blood, we ask the staff of possible candidates. Candidates that stands out in a positive way. Always helpful, polite and can take the heat when problems arise.
There's rarely a dull moment with a forum this size
And ofcause Ubuntu Membership is required.

Then we (the forum council) votes which candidates will receive and invite that they can accept or decline.
