    8gb Mushkin Ram

    Heya guys,

Bought this memory the other day, which arrived today : http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=41882

It is replacing this memory : http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=43728

so when I stuck them both in, my computer got just to the first screen then froze, stayed on the same screen for ages. So tried just 1 stick of the memory in which it did the same thing, tried 1 stick in both slots... same result.

    I have a good computer,
    Intel i5 2500 @3.30ghz
    Nvidia GTX470
    700w OCZ power supply

Anyone know what the problem could be?!
    Thank you in advance!

Does the old ram work if you try it now ?
Does bios support 8gb ram ?
Maybe your system does not like that make of ram ?
    Maybe faulty ram ?
    Try ram in another system.

What i've done is, kept old ram in, and put one of my new ones in and it works! I really want to use my other new piece of ram but it doesn't want to work?!

The default timing or clock speed of the new RAM is probably incompatible with your motherboard - even if it seems like it should work.

When you mix the old and new, the new clocks down to the speeds and timings of the old (lowest common denominator).

Go into your BIOS and note the clock speed and other settings of the RAM that works. Then try to force those settings on the new RAM.
    I Googled/rtfm before posting.
