Ubuntu 11.10 and Nvidia GeForce 7300LE

I have 3 older Dell 5150/E510's with Nvidia GeForce 7300LE video cards..

I am running 10.04 LTS on one, and the other two are running 11.04.

Unity3D, mmm I found that I can run nvidia_173 drivers and get my unity3d working which is cool.

I ultimately want to get the two 11.04's up to the new 12.04 LTS
but I have to pass through 11.10 to get there.

Can I still use the nvidia_173 in 11.10?
and is there an outside chance this will be moot in 12.04LTS?

Thought I would ask before taking the leap.
