Java does not work after updating.

how do I install the .tar package from Adobe?

if I install from the software centre, some websites work and some don't.

    Re: Java

If running Java apps and doing other simple tasks that require Java you should get the OpenJDK, which has worked wonderfully for me.

Also, if you are developing and need the official Oracle(Sun) release, it is still possible to download and (JDK) and or JRE (Runtime Environment).

    Hope that helps

What's the problem you're getting? You get Java from Oracle not Adobe.
