Is there a way to make ubuntu look like windows95/98?

I have a thing for how the old windows version look, and I have searched all over for a way to make ubuntu look like windows 95 or 98, is there a theme or anything? Currently I am using KDE, but I also have gnome installed. Is there a way? I am just not satisfied with the modern looks, and the high contrast themes look nothing like the old windows.

Here is a link that might help, it's old but may still be good. Don't know, haven't used windows since 95. Just search google: linux desktop environment looking like windows 95.

You can also go to gnome-look.org, select GDM themes on the left, and enter Windows 98 in the search box. Only thing it found that was close was a Start Menu.

You have better luck there searching for Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7.

KDE 3 used to look a lot like Windows 95. There might be a theme for KDE 4, but I'm not entirely sure.

    Try Zorin OS.

Good news, still based on Ubuntu. Probably your best bet.

Ubuntu 11.10 only accepts GTK 3 themes, and as far as I know nobody has made a GTK 3 theme to look like ye olde Windows.

If you're using 11.04 or earlier, I'm sure there are Windows 95/98 themes - but they'll only change the window borders and/or window controls, they won't actually make a taskbar or Start Menu or anything like that. The earlier poster was wrong - you need to look for GTK 2.x and Metacity themes, not GDM themes.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

I remember seeing a configuration script for fvwm a few years that emulated Win 95. I'm sure it would need to be adapted to the most recent version of fvwm. It is still probably on the Internet somewhere, maybe even on the fvwm website. I don't know how much work it would be but I'm sure it can be done in fvwm if you want it badly enough.

I use a very simple fvwm configuration with Ubuntu and have since 7.04. Make a few modifications now and then but essentially it is the same script as with 7.04.
