Hey guys, I've been having some issues with Ardour and Rosegarden. I've been trying to record guitar through them, with no success. While I can get guitar to play through my computer, and I can get the levels to show that Ardour and Rosegarden are in fact detecting audio, when I press record nothing happens. To give an example from Ardour, I'll arm the track for recording, press the record button, and hit play. Ordinarily a red box should show up and it should show audio being recorded, correct? My computer ignores the record function completely, and just tries to play something that isn't there. I do hope someone in this forum can help me, my last question went untouched. I'm at the point where I'm considering switching back to Windows, this is getting unnecessarily complicated Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Come on guys, I'd really appreciate some help. Even if it's just popping in to say you're stuck, I'd like to know someone is reading.

sudo apt-get install sox
