Nautilus is freezing in List View (10.10)

I tried going into my Music folder today, which I have set to List View by default, and I couldn't access it. Nautilus would lock up, and I'd have to force quit. There are currently 2,412 files in that folder (no subdirectories). I used the terminal to move all the files to a new folder, which I could then open in Icon View. However, if I switched that folder to List View, it would lock up again, and I couldn't access it.

Is there a reason this is happening? Does Nautilus have a limit as to how many files can be viewed at once in List View? I'm currently using 10.10, if that makes a difference.

    Start nautilus from terminal
    Code:
    nautilus
try again and see if you get any error messages.

Hmmm... maybe the large amount of files drains your resources.
Try with a lighter file manager like thunar.

Anyone else have an idea why this is happening?
