Weird panel setting after installing gnome 11.10

Hello,

Due to my monitor setup I need to have xinerama turned on and Unity doesn't work with this, so for 11.04 I was using ubuntu classic.

Now I have upgraded to 11.10 I have had to install the gnome fallback to use my computer again, but this has left me with weird panels at the top of my main monitor. I can't work out how to edit them as the usual right click menu doesn't appear.
