Okay, thanks. Not sure that any of those would apply here. I do know that in Xfce you can easily create an icon to click on when you want to force-quit an app, but I usually use xkill anyway.

Yes, that's true, I use a panel launcher with xkill on xfce, but it's not as user friendly.

Perberos, the MATE desktop environment gets you respect, dude. Not even playin right now, man. You get straight up kudos for this, mate.

I cannot believe what I am seeing right now. The updates to Gnome 3 and MATE that are coming down the pike at this very hour from Linux Mint are something to see. It's almost being debugged and rewritten by the hour. Whether Gnome 3 works or not really isn't the question, because the Mint team is 'making' it work, like it's making MATE work. These dudes must be working around the clock right now.

I now actually have a functioning, multitasking, application oriented desktop again! Astounding work! Hats go off to Perberos first, and also the Mint Mate team. You have single-handedly saved the Linux desktop.

I kid you not. I'm telling you, once MATE is ported to GTK3, it's game ovah. Unbelievable.

Since you didn't list what package this error is from, I can't be sure of the exact rarian dependency, but try rarian-compat. If that doesn't work, you can give librarian0 or librarian-dev a shot.
