Hi, I am researching the error messages.
I do not know why most of the commands are not showing results.
Have you had this wireless card work before recently?
Thank you

The wireless works as it should in Windows 7, but I haven't got it to work in ubuntu 11.04 neither 10.04 (I tried before hoping it would be easier).
Hi, a few more questions.
Are you trying to set this up as an AP?
Is your network hidden?
Have you gone to the top right corner of the screen and clicked on the internet icon and put a check by enable wireless?
Here is a screenshot
Thank you

Hi, we need to upgrade your kernel for this card to work, it is not support in older kernels.
I am going to look for directions to install a newer kernel.
Thank you

Hi, it took awhile to find the kernel here we go.
Go to this link and download them, they have to be installed in this order.
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa...0-rc2-oneiric/
Code:linux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc2_3.0.0-0300rc2.201106081532_all.deb linux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc2-generic_3.0.0-0300rc2.201106081532_amd64.deb linux-image-3.0.0-0300rc2-generic_3.0.0-0300rc2.201106081532_amd64.deb
Once you've got those downloaded, put them in your home folder of ubuntu installation. Make sure there are no other .deb files in your home. If there are, delete them.
Next, copy&paste this line into the terminal.
Enter your password, and wait and watch the terminal to make sure there is no errors, after it is done restart your computer and boot into the 3.0 kernel and see if you have wireless, there maybe more work to be done.Code:sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Thank you

I'm really sorry for the delay... I wasn't able to connect to the internet (but now it was a problem with my ISP).

My network is not hidden.
The option is not available in the corner, is not even "unselectable" (ghost).
I wasn't able to install this
the GUI showed thislinux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc2-generic_3.0.0-0300rc2.201106081532_amd64.deb
Thank you wildmanne39 for everything.Dependency is not satisfiable: linux-headers-3.0.0-0300rc2
Do you believe I should just change my computer for another one (I still have a few more days to return it to the store) or another model?
Hi, no please do not take your computer back yet.
I installed the new kernel on my computer and it was simple and worked great, make sure you put the three files you downloaded in your home/user file then run the command again.
Also make sure you downloaded the correct files, they look a little confusing in that download page.
Thank you
Ok. Now I'm running kernel 3.
Still no wireless
Hi, run this command please:
Code:lsmodCode:nm-toolCode:cat /etc/lsb-release; uname -aCode:rfkill list allpost the results here.Code:dmesg | egrep 'ath|firm|radio|switch|wlan0'
