    I understand that all of this is what would usually be in the /etc/network/interfaces file. But do I need all of it since all I'm wanting it to do is allow my home network to connect to the server? I don't have any need for it to access the internet.

    Do I need all of this as it's written above?
    auto eth0
    iface eth0 inet static
    address 192.168.1.105
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    network 192.168.1.0
    broadcast 192.168.0.255
    gateway 192.168.1.1
