Can not activate PCMCI or eth0

After long time I was able to start linux on my old laptop. However everything work fine but different linux has different behavior,
debian LXDE X11 does not recognize wired lan nor PCMCI cisco airo 350 card.
Puppy linux recognize wired lan but don't know how to start PCMCI card,
Kubuntu takes forever to load and install crashes at the end but recognize PCMCI card plus wired network.
Knoppix recognize wired lan don't know how to install on hard drive.

does any of you experts know how I can get on network.

    Hello maazrizki,

Yes each distribution is a different mix (or flavour) of software.

Can I suggest you try xubuntu. It is lighter than kubuntu or ubuntu. This means it should be quicker and possibly less likely to crash on your "old" laptop.

If your hardware is recognized by the (k)ubuntu kernel, this means that the required drivers have been compiled/included with the kernel, which is the same across all 'buntu's.

Post back if the xubuntu install does not work for you.

PS. How do you know that kubuntu works if you couldn't get it to install?

Kubuntu live CD works but very slow i.e. after each click I have to wait quite a while. Plus Xubuntu had the same problem that is at end of install give some kind or error and then I had no way but to get out of the system pull the power plug. However, on same hard drive I had debian LXDE 6 already installed from earlier try.
I'll try to send you lspci dump also
    Thanks for response
