    Overheating Acer Aspire 9420

    Hi all
    I have a problem with my laptop Acer Aspire 9420. The laptop is overheating...i'm have installed dual boot Win 7 and Ubuntu 10.4...With SpeedFan software is monitoring my temps...sometimes my GPU is on 100 Celsius and fan is not working but somehow after 1 hour is just start spinning(so the fan is working)...i tried everything, cleaning the fan, lot of fancontrol programs...and nothing...
    Also tried this method http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=42737
    when i write pwmconfig to terminal i get the message : There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed

    thats all...
    In Bios i dont have Advanced menu to set the fan speed or something...
    Please help

    i tried to update the bios...no changes...Anyone knows how to unlock or how can i see ADVANCED menu in Phoenix Bios v1.24
