    Ubuntu-AU Approved!

Well it's official, we're now an official LoCo again!

    https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ub...er/007450.html

Thanks to everyone for their hard work over the last 12 months or more, lets keep this momentum rolling and take it further.

Lets get some more release parties happening and make sure we get as many people along to those that are already planned as possible. Events, as always, are posted on http://loco.ubuntu.com/teams/ubuntu-au so sign up to your local one. If you can't see one you can make, feel free to start your own and email the details to the team mailing list - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/MailingLists

Well, for starters, I've ordered us some 11.10 CDs - http://lococouncil.ubuntu.com/2011/0...s-is-now-open/ and getting supplied for any events should be easier and more plentiful.

So lets get cracking on organising some more events.

I'd be wary about handing out 11.04 install discs to anyone but netbook users.

Actually, scrub that, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even netbook users. 11.04 is NOT a stable OS.

I'll agree with that and I've already voiced my opinion.(here)

However you're kinda quoting the wrong number.

Slightly different numbers but big in terms of stability, usability, and even just plain coolness! I'm just about to install the beta2 on bare metal just to give it a final run down! But so far it's really really awesome!

Sorry, my bad. Have been seeing red the last few days because of my Natty install.

Will have to give 11.10 another go. Tried it a few months back but the VM broke after some updates.
