    Multi-function print/scanner/etc. on Ubuntu

Does Ubuntu have the proper drivers/software built into it to make all of the functions of a Canon multi-function printer/scanner/fax machine work ? No, I don't have the exact model at this time.

I know where the setup of prints, etc. is done in Ubuntu.

I do not have my friend's Canon on hand to see if it can be setup properly and I would like to know before I have him go to the trouble of bringing it over to me.

    Thanks.

Certainly some of the canon multifunction machines work well in ubuntu but you may need to download the drivers from the canon website.

For some weird reason it appears that the Australian website has some drivers that are not found elsewhere, or perhaps it is just a search fault that I made at some point in the past.

here is where I found the drivers for a canon mfp 250

Perhaps it will help you find other machine drivers if this one is not right for your machine.

    Ajgreeny:

Turns out it was an MFP 250.

Got the driver from the Canon site AND once I finally figured out how to get it installed, it worked just fine.

    Thanks.
