    Question NIS conflicts

    I have ubuntu 11.10 installed.
    Telnet server installed and running.
    LAMP package installed.
    Apache Web Server is up and running.

    Will the above active programs conflict with NIS server installed in my machine?
    I have installed NIS by using:
    sudo apt-get install portmap nis

    but the installation of NIS showed some bind process as [Failed].
    What could be the problem?
