    Elizabeth Krumbach: Ubuntu California at Solano Stroll 2011

    The Solano Stroll has been held since 1974 and is currently the largest Street Festival in the San Francisco Area's East Bay. BerkeleyLUG teamed up with Ubuntu California LoCo and the local non-profit Partimus to staff a booth at this years event (something that has now become an annual affair for them).

    Canonical Design Team: A monospace that looks like a proportional

    The Ubuntu font was introduced way back with 10.04 LTS, but only included a proportional font. A corresponding monospace font has been in development for over a year, and is in the final testing phases.

    As the cloud-server management system Ensemble gets renamed Juju and formulas become charms in preparation for a 1.0 release, the improvements keep coming. Security is improved, killing and destroying instances is more robust, and many charms have been written.
