Hello everyone,
I'm using ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) on a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 13. (The hardware works properly out of the box except for the wireless, for which I needed a driver from the Realtek website with the module name "r8192ce_pci". It seemed iffy at first but works fine.)
Everything works fine except after some time, watching movies, perhaps after half an hour, the system slows down considerably. Programs start very slowly; video stutters; mplayer tells me that my system is too slow (-vo xv). The only way I found to fix this is to reboot.
The strange this is that the CPU load is normal, i.e. very low. Whatever is slowing down the system doesn't show up in "top".
Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this? I suspect the wireless drivers or the intel integrated graphics.
