    11.10 official artwork

Has the official artwork for Ubuntu 11.10 been released yet? If so, where can I find it?

The shortlist was released, but I don't know about the final selections.

Not to my knowledge, but I'd expect it within the week if when they were made public for Natty was anything to go by.

Also, not new, but I didn't mention the new default in the previous post. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/08/d...-ubuntu-11-10/

    Question Re: 11.10 official artwork

Here's what may seem like a silly question but I haven't seen or found any postings on this. Is there an update for Ubuntu coming up in October?

I looked at the page with wallpapers. Cool site for Ubuntu that has a review of the beta release. The official release comes out in mid October. I wondered why I didn't see anything yet on this forum.

When in doubt, check it out!

If all else fails, check the plug!

Yes, there will be a new release of Ubuntu in October, and there's actually been a lot of talk about it on this forum. There's a part of the forum just for the discussion of it: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=403

There is a new release of Ubuntu every six months, every April and every October. The fourth and tenth months of the year.

    It's pretty exciting.

Here are the wallpapers chosen for inclusion in 11.10 by default from the shortlist. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/09/u...pers-download/

There's been one or two wallpapers I've liked in each set before now. This one is a great set.

Red face Re: 11.10 official artwork

That is a great set of wallpapers. That Ocelot finally replaced my years old default wallpaper

One question, though. Does anyone know if there is a good reason for the awful levels of compression most of those pictures are suffering from? I took a look at a couple of the original entries, and they look great, but the packaged ones are mostly reduced to less than 100k per file, which just doesn't do justice to them at all.
