Hello Everyone! I recently took it upon myself to save a friends computer from vista. I setup a dual boot with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS all went well until I tried to install the nVidia drivers. I have tried all three versions that appear in the driver manager, starting with (current) version. Each time I restart system, a graphics interface fails to initiate. It goes to a black screen with computer name and tty1, and a username and password promt. After login, it appears open up a blank terminal screen.
I'm not a linux expert and have a limited knowledge of terminal actions. With that aside it appears to be a graphics driver problem.
SYSTEM SPECS:
HP Pavilion Media Center TV m8100n PC
Chipset: NVIDIA nForce 430
Video adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE
Would appreciate any help on this. I've tried all three drivers. Thanks in advance for any input.
