    Evolution Send/Receive failure

I'm trying to upgrade to Ubuntu v10.04LTS but have hit a major problem, I cannot get Evolution email working. Now I've been using it for years so this problem has come as something of a surprise. Currently I have it working in Ubuntu v9.04 (Jaunty), Evolution 2.26.1, on the same PC but different HDD.

On the new installation (10.04LTS) Firefox works (once I'd disabled ipv6) as does Synaptic. Evolution is installed OK and I've restored all my settings and emails via the Backup system. But when I press Send/Receive I get a time out. It would appear that something is blocking it, but what and how? as it works fine with the older installation; I'm completely lost.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Kindest Regards

    Re: Evolution Send/Receive failure

I suspect that it's not Evolution that is the problem as I've now tried Thunderbird as well with the same outcome.

Both pause at the point where normally you'd get a request for the password, so I'm thinking that I'm not getting any connection to the server.

Any idea how I can see what's happening? Is it a port issue?
