Center an element in GIMP

If I paste an image into another image file, how do I center it, so that the pasted element gets right in the middle?

Use the "align" tool on the object. It is on the side along with the paint/crop etc, or in the menu.

Thanks NightwishFan! Like CarpKing, I've also been a long-time user and have never used the align-tool. I actually finished a project yesterday and had to do it by eye.
