I wonder if it runs Linux...Feeding a supercomputer with news stories could help predict major world events, according to US research.
A study, based on millions of articles, charted deteriorating national sentiment ahead of the recent revolutions in Libya and Egypt.
While the analysis was carried out retrospectively, scientists say the same processes could be used to anticipate upcoming conflict.
The system also picked up early clues about Osama Bin Laden's location.
This study was conducted retrospectively, but I wonder if it had been done before the revolutions and the data was announced to the world, if the revolutions would have happened. I wonder if the computer can compute its own impact on world events...not likely.
Also, I also sensed deteriorating national sentiment in Egypt and Libya before the revolutions so I am going to reclassify myself as a supercomputer.
