    i5 Intel GMA HD support

I am considering buying a laptop that uses the i5 with Intel GMA HD chipset. I've searched all over to try and figure out the current state of support for this gpu, but all I can find is threads from months ago.

Does anyone know what the current state of support is? I'm looking for compiz support and HD video playback.

    Thanks

Do you have a model number of the graphics chip? I think there are several different models of Intel HD graphics. For example, I have a 4500M HD chip and it has severe backlight problems, but I have a 3000 HD in my other laptop and it works great.

Unfortunately no. This is the laptop in question: MSI A7200-027US.

It has an i5-430M CPU, which according to this page, has an "integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD (GMA HD) graphics card", which is "clearly faster than the old GMA 4500MHD", so apparently an even newer version.
