    Question Dead Repository Links

Over a period of time I've managed to stockpile roughly 400 software sources in my repositories. Unfortunately, about 10% are now dead.

Although I can play hide-and-go-seek to delete these dead links in Software Sources I was once told a program existed that could spot and remove these without the hassle (of course I forgot to mark or remember the program name).

Recent searches have failed to show any such program so now I bring my query to the forums. Does any such program or even a terminal command exist that can do this?

    Thanks

    I think:
    sudo apt-get update

will show an error message for each dead repository.

Yes, that gives a listing of the offending sources, but there are so many I'd like to see if there is just one program or command that can wipe the dead links out at once.

    Thanks anyway
