Creative vista vf0330 stopped working

hi everyone

this is my problem: i had been using this camera (creative webcam vista vf0330 041e:405f) to develop some opencv apps. it was working just fine until ive reinstalled ubuntu 10.04 with the exact same configuration as before. ive been looking around for solutions but nothing works... the camera is detected and i can run tests with Cheese and gstreamer-properties... but when i run the opencv codes i programmed: Nothing.

i am using an alternative image adquisition device with the "same" codes and it works great. the problem is this device requires hardware and software implementations that i dont want to deal with, until i get the final code working.

anyone can please help me?

Just installed opencv 2.3.1... works...i found that 2.2.0 had a lot of bugs...
