Same here. I'm getting random lock-ups where my mouse and keyboard don't appear to be working.

    It requires a hard reset.

Any idea how I can debug this or find out why it's locking up on me?

After installing Ubuntu 11.04 the Unity desktop and Compiz was turned off. I removed nVidia drivers, after that Unity and Compiz became running. But there are many lags For example while moving a window. Is there anyone with similar problem?

Have you tried bumblebee explained earlier in this thread?

Did you try the work around described here? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/As...esktop_effects

I am interested in buying this laptop, but I am curious how 11.10 will work on it. Has anyone tried installing the latest beta?

I tried booting the beta2 installer from a USB drive and it worked pretty much as well as with 11.04, except you don't need for example the bluetooth hack. I ran checkbox and there were some tests that failed (don't recall which ones), but that's partly because I didn't apply some of the hacks needed in 11.04.

Twefoju, you will have to wait for 12.04 for better optimus support with the Wayland display system from what i have read...

    Re: ASUS u36sd support thread

I would like to thank to all people making Ubuntu such a user supporting-oriented system. I've been a bit disappointed with my ASUS U36SD and Ubuntu - not working USB3, not working Fn keys, suspend problem...

But almost everything is explained here, how to fix.. Thanks.

I am about to wait a few days for final Ubuntu 11.10 to see what will be left to solve in the new release. I suppose lot of things will be working there just out-of-the-box (except for the Nvidia vs Intel graphic card problem). Or am I wrong?

    Greetings
    crysman
    (currently on Xubuntu 11.04)
