Makemkv is probably the only most advanced BD decrypter for Linux so far. I have a concern though.
Since version 1.6, installing makemkv does not reset the expiry date. Fair enough with me, I know this is not an opensource software (until we have libbpplus we'll have to use makemkv for BD+ discs). However, it means that makemkv makes some system change to store a timestamp somewhere, which is not removed after uninstalling makemkv. I am very uncomfortable with that.
(mode paranoia on) Do we have guarantees we have there is no backdoor/spyware/network access after installing this piece of code?
Thanks.
