    upgrade

    can I upgrade 10.04 os to 11.04 by a 11.04 live cd,-with synaptic package manager-

    The synaptic manager will upgrade to 10.10 first, then to 11.04. You can install 11.04 with your 11.04 cd directly through the cd. Just be sure to tell it to install on the same partition as the 10.04 is on by choosing 'other' when it asks where to install. You'll have to do a little changing there.
