    Battery indictor help please

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 (natty) on my hp pavilion dv1000 laptop and you know that little battery indicator in the top bar of the screen, its not there any more. So I don't know how battery I have left nor when I plug it in do i know if its full. Anybody know how to get that back, it was there when i installed it just vanished. Any amount of help would be appreciated.

right-click your top panel (or menu bar or w/e you call it) and go to add to panel. Scroll down a bit till you see "Indicator applet". Click it and click add

......................Why not? Are you on a Mac?

Is it JUST the battery indicator that's missing, or the entire top panel?

No the menu bar across the top of the screen in there, just no context menu pops up when I right click it.
