    Update wine

    10.04

    Ok so the software center gives me wine 1.2.2
    but, I want to update to 1.3.19.... how do I do this? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried the sudo update thing... and it stays at 1.2.2.... please help cause I have been at this for an hour

    Try using a different mirror repository or the official ubuntu repository.

    I tried the repository, but it has 1.2.2
    and the site offered the file as an installer, not an upgrade... and it was a tar.bz2 file. I dont know how to compile

    Wine have their own PPA: http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu

    One note of caution. After the very latest wine has been installed by this PPA Update Manager might offer to update wine for you. Be careful. Update manager will update wine 1.3 with wine 1.2, if you let it.
