    How to get off the problem -->failed to load session "gnome-fallback" I am using ubuntu 11.04 and gnome 3

    don't use 11.04 with gnome-3. I would assume this is the source of your problem.

    11.04 was built on gnome-2. You should use it only with gnome-2.

    How exactly did you go about installing gnome 3? Do you mean Gnome-Shell Desktop Environment?

    actully i attended asia summit of gnome 2011 held at bangalore and they were explaining about gnome 3, i loved the GUI, i found the terminal code on natty site "how to install gnome 3 on ubuntu 11.04, so i did and now i am getting this problem.

    yeah, there's a reason that gnome-shell is not available int he ubuntu repos yet.

    I'd suggest not trying to run Shell on ubuntu until 11.10 comes out. If you really want to run Shell, install Fedora 15.

    Uninstall gnome 3 shell, and then you should be fine to get back into Unity or Gnome 2
