    Windows sliding effect using compiz

In movie "die hard 4", the desktop that is used by Trey (Jonathan) has some effect in which windows slide in/away from screen while moving parallel to an edge of the screen.
I am wondering that if that effect could be achieved on closing and opening of windows on ubuntu (using compiz)?
Anyone has any idea about it?

(if you can't get the idea of the effect, go to www.nixova.com and open any one of the options in the bottom dock. A window like box slides in. I am talking about something this kind of effect. Hope this helps. )

Hey, sorry, I know this might be a bit late, but you need the compiz-plugins-extra package. If you turn off the tesselation (by setting the values to 1) and rotation (by setting the value to 0) on Skewer in the Animations Add-On plugin's Effect Settings and set the directions you want, it'll give you what you want. I've used this as a minimize animation in the past, and it's really quite neat.
