    Installing 11.04 without PAE

    Hi

I have a desktop computer with 8Gb or RAM on board. When I install ubuntu 32-bit the installer installs the PAE kernel by default. Is there any way I can get the installer to install the non-pae kernel instead of having to remove the pae kernel post-installation?

(I know I will only be able to use ~3.2Gb without PAE).

    Thanks

Any particular reason you would want to run a 32 bit OS on 64 bit hardware?

Because I only ever get headaches with fglrx and alsa.. it's the same story with the PAE kernel. It might seem strange having 8Gb available and only using 3Gbs of that, but equally having a graphics card and sound card on your system and not being able to utilise them is equally strange.
