Regarding a media player for xubuntu: is there not one in the default install? If not, would banshee work?
Oh there is one yes: Xfmedia, it's used for video and audio, doesn't have a browserplugin, and doesn't do databases. About banshee, well I don't know why but for some reasons all those players just didn't feel as nice as amarok(except for the crashes then :s), but well I could try to get used to it. But we still need a browser plugin, totem has one so...

I dont know if its allready mentioned, but you forgot to put "sudo" before the line which backups the sources.list so you get an error that you have no permission to copy it.

I used the bumps1.251 release and it happened on 3 systems.

Here is the output from the log:
    Code:
    Log of cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.backup
    Mon Jul 3 21:56:26 2006

cp: cannot create regular file `/etc/apt/sources.list.backup': Permission denied
cp died with exit status 1
    Code:
    Mon Jul 3 21:57:01 2006
    ----------------
Log of sudo cp sources.list.backup /etc/apt/sources.list
    Mon Jul 3 21:57:01 2006

cp: cannot stat `sources.list.backup': No such file or directory
sudo died with exit status 1
So the sources.list of bumps is still in the /etc/apt dir as the main sources.list

Xubuntu is being worked on , we're still not sure which music manager we should install Iandefor suggested Banshee, I suppose it's ok? Movie player is totem and gstreamers is used as backend since Banshee installs most of it anyway, only libxine is installed for XFMedia, but well if gstreamer works I suppose it's fine too? but that's for the next release.

    Ahh ok
When I install Gnome-terminal it works and now I install some program on Xubuntu from bumps.

That going to be fun to see how it works when that is done

Yeah I noticed Iandefor has put some code in bumps to check for GNOME when you click you have ubuntu instead of kubuntu installed, I assume that's why gnone-terminal is needed. For kubuntu and xubuntu this is not the case since I wouldn't know how to do something similar in KDE or XFCE anyways .

ok, well since I can't change the first post I'll post the new release here
It's version 1.3 and the changes are:

    -xubuntu support
    - removed gstreamer packages for kubuntu (doesn't install them anymore)
    - removed mplayer and mozilla-mplayer in default install, still installable if you wish so.
