    Nothing I do make Orbicam work....:-(

    Hi all,

    before upgrade to 10.10 the webcam worked fine. After - nothing I read works - no webcam in anything (cheese, skype, xawtv etc.)

    Please help !!!

    Earlier, to avoid a loop at the boot time I had to blacklist gspca_vc032x to avoid so...

    NOTHING I do works... no webcam, no skype (and I need it badly) !! Please help !

    in a terminal type dmesg click enter
    after it stops
    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so xawtv click enter

    see if that helps

    looks like you may need to un black list the driver
    or the cam is bad
    you may have a piece of dust in the cam wire or usb port

    hmm... I removed the blacklisted chain for the gspca, to no avail... the camera is built-in, so no dust in usb port...

    do you need to click keys like fn f4 at the same time to start the cam the first time ?

    rerun the dmesg see if it finds the cam

    also run lsusb
