    Scratch all that... I ended up buying a System 76.

    You'll be using it with an external mouse, correct? Blender is a nightmare when used with a touchpad, as are all the 3D modeling programs.

    Yeah, I use an external mouse. I'm getting it so I can work in front of the tv and not constantly be in my "man cave" (as my wife calls it). So now I can pretend to watch Top Chef with the wife when actually I'll be Blending.

    ...but the whole point is to use all open-source software. I'm just trying to make CG fun again (for me anyway). This weekend I got my Cintiq working really well with Blender and Gimp on Ubuntu 10.10.
